Friday, November 7, ICEHOTEL opens its first permanent ICEBAR outside of Sweden – right on Strøget in Copenhagen. Here, Arctic ice meets Nordic flavours in unique cocktails, as local ingredients from the north of Sweden take centre stage on the international scene.
In collaboration with ICEBAR, Norrbottens Destilleri has created a drink concept that celebrates the flavours of northern Sweden – where spruce, pine, and wild berries meet Arctic creativity. The result: classic cocktails reimagined, infused with the scent and taste of the northern forests – in the heart of Copenhagen.
“What we value most about Norrbottens Destilleri is that, just like us, they stay true to their roots and draw inspiration directly from the nature that surrounds them. The result is a drinking experience that brings the essence of the north of Sweden out into the world – served in ice glasses shaped from the waters of the Torne River,”says Marie Herrey, CEO of ICEHOTEL.
ICEBAR BY ICEHOTEL Copenhagen is designed by Swedish artistsChristian Strömqvist and Karl-Johan Ekeroth and carries the theme Origin – a tribute to water as the source of life and to the Torne River, which each year provides the ice for both ICEHOTEL and ICEBAR. When the ice in the bar eventually melts, it returns to the sea – completing the circle and reminding us of nature’s constant flow.

With 50 tons of crystal-clear natural ice, ice glasses, Nordic craftsmanship, and light design, ICEBAR becomes a meeting place for both locals and international guests – where every drink captures the taste and atmosphere of the Arctic.
Copenhagen leads ICEHOTEL’s international expansion
ICEBAR Copenhagen is the first ICEBAR outside Sweden to be operated directly by ICEHOTEL – marking the beginning of an exciting international expansion. Construction at Østergade 13 (Strøget), near Kongens Nytorv, is in full swing, with the grand opening party taking place on November 6, before doors open to the public on November 7
